The “Universidad del Rosario” in Bogotá/Colombia, the “Felsberg Institute for Education and Academic Research” (FIBW) and the “International Consortium for Research on Violence”(ICRoV) will publish a book on the topic of “Realistic Peace and Turbulent Transition”. This is a call for chapters that present research findings in the following fields:
- Demobilisation of combatants and disintegration of networks of crime
- Transitional Justice
- Reconciliation
- Economic reconstruction and problems of peace and economic progress.
Contributions shall elaborate on the following questions:
- What are the accomplishments and failures of transitional justice to overcome violence?
- What are the economic, social, political, cultural, and psychological requirements in order to promote transitions from autocracy to democracy and from violence to nonviolence?
- Which are the main endogenous (national) and exogenous (international) economic, social and political conditions to promote successful transitions?
- How can we promote successful process of restitution of rights to victims and how to overcome the conflicts of economic progress?
Special consideration will be given to the situation in Iraq.
We welcome contributions from all academic disciplines, interdisciplinary approaches and comparative views are especially welcome.
We also expect contributions on theoretical and methodological aspects of research on violence, on reconciliation and on transition mechanisms in conflict and post conflict settings.
Papers should be written in English and contain approx. 10,000 words.
